MICHIGAN – RETINA Surgeon Needed for Mission-Minded Group

Come practice off the shores of Lake Michigan with a dynamic, growing 10-doctor group practice that has a reputation for fantastic patient care. We have a wonderful team of Ophthalmologists and Optometrists who work in a collegial, collaborative atmosphere providing general ophthalmology, cornea, glaucoma, plastics, retina care and full-scope optometry services.

Practice/Position
We are searching for a talented and motivated Retina Surgeon to provide compassionate care to an existing and growing patient population. The need is immediate! Patients are waiting for an additional Retina doctor, so you will be busy immediately and not have to build up your practice.

The practice is willing to consider Locum Tenens for the short term but finding a surgeon with the best skills for a long-term partnership is critical for the practice. We will accept those with research interests as well. Know that you will be able to collaborate with the other doctors and have considerable influence in defining the direction of our Retina service.

Because of the long-term need fellows-in-training or young ophthalmologists who are or considering Retina as a subspecialty are also encouraged to learn more about this unique opportunity. Young Ophthalmologists seeking mentors will have a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with our seasoned staff.

We serve 4 locations with a sizable MSA and a large, established referral base. The bulk of the incoming doctor’s work will be at 2 offices -- one in Indiana located minutes from the University of Notre Dame, and our main office which is 10 minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan and less than 2 hours from downtown Chicago.  We recently completed a brand new 10,000 square foot, 3-suite ASC conveniently located onsite at the main office. Both the offices and the ASC include state-of-the-art equipment:

  • OCT Angiography
  • Optovue, Heidelberg, and Zeiss OCTs
  • Optos with ICG capability -- Two pattern lasers, PDT laser
  • Alcon Constellation with Resight
  • A high-end Zeiss microscope

We also have a large, beautiful in-house optical department and our highly trained staff of technicians and scribes complement the practice's emphasis on efficiency and patient care.

A Retina surgeon who is interested in global eye care for the world’s poor and under-served will absolutely love our practice. Many of the doctors and staff here have an inspiring heart for missions and participate in international eye care relief trips regularly.

The Area
Southwest Michigan / Northern Indiana, or “Michiana”, is a beautiful, family-friendly area with lots to see and do. We have four distinct seasons, a multicultural population, wonderful schools, and an abundance of great nature-oriented activities all closeby. The region is well-known for its scenic vineyards and bountiful fruit orchards. You’ll treasure the tranquility of nearby Lake Michigan and when you crave the bright lights and big city experience, downtown Chicago is within easy reach. A recent study by 24/7 Wall Street ranked it as the 23rd best city to live in the U.S!

Qualified Retina candidates can expect a competitive salary and incentives package and an attractive option for partnership after 24 months.
